- International career in the corporate world
Elisabeth was born and raised in the Netherlands, where she began painting as a child. She was offered a scholarship to go to art school, but her father didn’t agree with that direction for her life. So instead of pursuing her passion and receiving traditional art training, she went to secretarial school, studied French in Paris and got a college degree in Human Resources in the Netherlands. After graduation, she excelled in the corporate business environment, fluent in four languages and living and working throughout Europe and Australia as a teacher, an executive assistant, interpreter and a human resource manager for international companies. While in these roles she realized her passion for working with people, helping them pursue their dreams.
As she built her career and while staying in touch with her creative side, Elisabeth also built her family, marrying and having two beautiful children. In 2000, the family moved to the United States. Elisabeth moved to another country again and left the corporate world behind. It was in her new life in America where she reignited with an old passion—painting. Soon, she not only began to sell her artwork, she started winning awards. While working as an artist, she realized she missed working with people, learning about others’ lives and interests and working to help others excel.
Elisabeth enrolled in the Coaches Training Institute where right from the start she knew she wanted to combine her two passions—art and community. She attended a process arts class and experienced firsthand the power of spontaneous painting and free expression and the connection was made. Elisabeth began to blend process arts with her personal coaching and found that the two together were an even stronger personal growth tool. Here, in the safe realm of non-judgment and play, participants rediscover themselves as Elisabeth asks thought-provoking questions. Attendants report experiencing heightened personal awareness and feeling immediate internal emotional shifts, resulting in lasting transformations.
Elisabeth now divides her time between Colorado and Maryland, where she shares her love of art, offers Transformational Art workshops year round and works as a life coach with women in transition.
